Vegetable Garden Peaking at the End of Spring
Spring is Giving Way to Summer and the Vegetable Garden is in Full Swing
Just a week left of spring and the weather has finally turned from the cool, cloudy “June Gloom” into warm and sunny afternoons. The vegetable garden is kicking into high gear. Here’s a 180 degree look at it right now.
The Garden Right Now
Panning left to right, we start with the birdbath in with rosemary and oregano, then move along to crookneck squash and Romanesco zucchini growing among sweet corn. You can also see blackberries along the fence.
Past the first path you see golden Swiss chard and an arch of Rattlesnake pole beans. Keep turning and there’s a full 24 foot row of tomatoes up front and more sweet corn ripening behind it. Off in the distance you can see the cucumber trellis and hanging gourd garden with dried vines still on it.
Finally as the camera swings all the way to the right you can see Jacob’s Cattle beans up front, dill and cauliflower behind it. More yellow squash is growing next to mini bell peppers and Buran sweet peppers behind that. And two trellises of blue lake pole beans climbing in the background.
Peak vegetable garden.
