‘Taters and ‘Maters

Once of my neighbors gave me some seed potatoes, Russian Banana Fingerling and German Butterball, earlier this spring, so I decided to dedicate one of the beds to potatoes.

A few weeks later, the potatoes didn’t seem to be doing much, so I planted a few extra yellow pear tomato plants in there as well, making it the “taters and maters” bed.

The potatoes have caught up the to the tomatoes now, so it’s been hard to tell what’s what for a while. But a couple of days ago everybody started to flower and put on a pretty good show.

The purple flowers are from the Russian Fingerlings and the white ones are from the German Butterballs.

I hope they taste as good as they look in flower.
