Ugly Carrots Still Taste Good
I’ve never had much luck growing carrots.
I mean, I can grow carrots, but they never look like those big orange sticks you see in the grocery store.
It doesn’t seem to matter what variety I grow, either. Short ones, long ones, fat ones, skinny ones — it doesn’t matter. They always end up looking like a bunch of mangled roots even if they’re given plenty of room and lots of soft, loamy soil.
That’s why I grow the multi-colored ones now. Even if they’re an ugly mess, all the colors make them look kind of cool.
Plus, once they’re chopped up and cooked or thrown in a salad, they still taste good.
