Contrails fro a SpaceX launch about 3o minutes after sunset

SpaceX launched a Falcon Rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base and put another handful of Starlink satellites into space last night around 6:45PM.

Unlike some previous launches this one launched too far west to see it here from northern San Diego County, but the prevailing ocean winds sent the rocket’s trail back our way about 30 minutes later.

Here it is just after nautical twilight.

Amazing.

Better yet, those Starlinks are supposed to provide space-to-ground cellular communications. My cell service here sucks, and I don’t like all the cell towers disguised a crappy, fake hotel lobby palm trees, so I’m all for it.

I like to write about the stuff I build, grow and see here at Sage's Acre.
