Be Not Bee

By Published On: May 29th, 20210.6 min readCategories: Photos

I was admiring my out-of-control Golden dewdrop (Duranta ecrecta), currently a tower of blue flowers looming over the garden gate. Naturally, there’s a mob of bees working the tree, so I thought I’d snap off a few pictures with my phone.

I took a total of eight photos, and even though there were bees everywhere, this is the only photo I got of one, and it’s not even a bee.

Not a honey bee, just a drone fly disguised as one.

It’s just a Drone fly (Eristalis tenax) wearing a bee suit.

Bees are tricky when they don’t want to be photographed.

I like to write about the stuff I build, grow and see here at Sage's Acre.
