Tomatillo Time!

The tomatillo plants are practically throwing fruit at us right now.

This haul is from the two plants in the keyhole garden, which I transplanted there after finding them growing wild in a corner of the veggie this past April.

I used to have both green and purple varieties, but, as you can see, because I let them go native and cross breed over the years, some plants produce all green fruit, some produce all purple, and some produce a little of both.

Either way, they taste great. Salsa verde time!

I’m just a guy with nearly an acre of dirt, a nice little mid-century ranch house and a near-perfect climate. But in my mind I’m a landscaper survivalist craftsman chef naturalist with a barbeque the size of a VW and my own cable TV show. I like to write about the stuff I build, grow and see here at Sage's Acre.
