Last Sunset of Autumn 2023 (Almost)
Winter began last night, December 21st, here in San Diego at 7:27PM.
The Pacific storm that rolled in a couple hours later had its moments—lightning, thunder, heavy rain. But all-in-all, it was kind of a dud compared to the dire predictions of a 3-day torrential rain and flash flooding the weather service predicted.
The same can be said for the last sunset of autumn 2023. It was gray, dull and damp.
Luckily, the sunset on December 20th, on the other hand, was quite pleasant.
The sky was a cool, late autumn blue and pink, except for one gold hot spot where the sun setting into the Pacific behind the palms reflected the light upward.
I feel like one day is close enough to call it the “last” sunset, so I’m going with it.
