The Hanging Gourd Garden Drawing to a Close
Another year, another successful gourd garden
This was the fifth year of the hanging gourd garden, and if it wasn’t the most successful, it was a close second.
In all there was a bit more than 50 gourds in total from the four plants started back in May. It’s late October now and these gourds have been bumming around all summer long, so with the autumn rain and the winter now in sight, it’s time to pull them down and bring them to the shed to finish drying.
Before we do that, though, here’s one last look at the dipper, bowl, birdhouse and canteen gourds hanging around the garden at Sage’s Acre.

I’m just a guy with nearly an acre of dirt, a nice little mid-century ranch house and a near-perfect climate. But in my mind I’m a landscaper survivalist craftsman chef naturalist with a barbeque the size of a VW and my own cable TV show. I like to write about the stuff I build, grow and see here at Sage's Acre.
