The Keyhole Garden on September 20, 2020

It’s day 548 of production for the keyhole garden. The recent heatwave ended what was left of the tomatoes and most of the sweet peppers, so I pulled them, clearing the front of the bed of everything save a little late season basil and some onions that my wife likes to snack on. The pumpkin around the back of the bed seems to have sensed the open space because it took exactly one day for it to reach the other side of the bed.

One pleasant surprise, while clearing the fried peppers, I discovered a short row of garlic (left side) that I must have missed when I harvested the rest last spring. Since it’s practically fall and garlic planting time already, I’m letting them run.
