Baby Aeonium

One of the great things about succulents is they’re just dead easy to grow. I found this little guy in some rocks by the pond where it had apparently broken off from the mother plant when I was moving it to a new location last summer.

It had no soil and, as far as I know, no water (other than maybe a little morning fog now and then) since it fell months ago. All I did was pick it up and stick it into the bowl gourd planter with a couple of other “found” succulents.

Looking at this morning, it’s absolutely radiant.

I’m just a guy with nearly an acre of dirt, a nice little mid-century ranch house and a near-perfect climate. But in my mind I’m a landscaper survivalist craftsman chef naturalist with a barbeque the size of a VW and my own cable TV show. I like to write about the stuff I build, grow and see here at Sage's Acre.
