Chinese Lantern in Bloom
[lmt-post-modified-info]
High pressure over the Great Basin is giving us some gorgeous weather here in San Diego.
Temperatures in the upper 70s (25° C) and the bluest skies in some time are great all by themselves. But when you add in the varigated Chinese Lanterns — aka: “flowering maple” — (Abutilon) with their yellow speckled leaves and bright orange flowers sunning themselves by the courtyard bench, the day just went from “fantastic” to “spectacular”.

I’m just a guy with nearly an acre of dirt, a nice little mid-century ranch house and a near-perfect climate. But in my mind I’m a landscaper survivalist craftsman chef naturalist with a barbeque the size of a VW and my own cable TV show. I like to write about the stuff I build, grow and see here at Sage's Acre.
