Volunteer Cosmos hanging out in the tropical garden

Chasing the baby chickens out of the tropical garden, I came across this orange cosmos growing along the lower path. I have no idea where it came from, but I’m happy it’s here.

What I’m not as happy about is a brown turkey fig tree (Ficus carica) that’s established itself just a few feet away. Dang mockingbirds keep taking the fruit off the tree by the chicken coop and spreading them around the Acre. They’re a pain in the butt to get rid of.
