Gopher Plague Continues

Another celery plant bites the dust thanks to gophers

First it was the dill, then the aloe, then the broccoli, and now the celery.

This year the gophers are relentless (thanks El Niño). Even though I’ve trapped four in the past week, the vegetable garden still shows signs of at least three more, all of whom are doing a good job evading the traps.

I can’t plant until the beds are cleared of these pests, so I’m thinking of doing something drastic like dragging out the rototiller. Maybe some heavy machinery will clear them out.

Grrr.

I like to write about the stuff I build, grow and see here at Sage's Acre.
